Q: What do we do?

A: Robert Lyon & Company are independent cargo surveyors who represent cargo insurers and cargo owners to investigate claims for cargo damage. We perform condition, quality and loss prevention surveys on behalf of insurers and cargo owners.

Q: Where are we and where do we go?

A: Our head office is in Essex, East of London. Close to the River Humber, our northern office is in Grimsby, and our associate company Robert Lyon International is in Dubai, UAE. From these locations we perform surveys globally including North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Q: What is a Lloyd’s Agent?

A: The Lloyds Agency Network provides 24 hour, year round independent marine surveying services to the global insurance industry. Q: What is BACS?

A: Robert Lyon & Company are founding members of the British Association of Cargo Surveyors (BACS) and proud supporters of their Training and Development programmes, seminars and charity fundraising events. Together we raise funds for charities close to our hearts including:

  • The Mission to Seafarers;

  • The Motor Neurone Disease Association; and

  • The Diabetic Foot Clinic.
